Without rumors, Rome would be a ghost town. We shall see. And keep praying for his immortal soul and, whether or not these are his last days on Earth, his comfort.

This sounds dangerous and could end quickly. I have 20 year friend that had problems with a kidney stone who went to the doctor because he was having some problems passing his kidney stone. The doctor said that’s not that uncommon, and it will pass. He was texting and joking with me on Friday night and acting normally.. His fever spiked on Saturday, he went into cardiac arrest and died Saturday night. Last diagnosis was sepsis. All his friends and family were stunned by the speed of his passing.

@Ezabelle (“Who is in charge in the meantime?”):

We may fear to know, after the many plans and measures taken for this stage of events.

Regardless of our personal feelings about P Francis, we obviously sincerely pray for him, as we share the acute knowledge of our own mortality and our imminent coming judgment before God Our Lord.

So. It is not without coincidence that the Liturgy of the Hours’ Office of Readings this week is going through “Qoheleth,” or the Speaker of the Assembly, or, “Ecclesiastes,” saying this, yesterday morning:

“Moreover I saw under the sun that in the place of justice, even there was wickedness, and in the place of righteousness, even there was wickedness.”

“I said in my heart, God will judge the righteous and the wicked, for He has appointed a time for every matter, and for every work. I said in my heart with regard to the sons of men that God is testing them to show them that they are but beasts.”

“For the fate of the sons of men and the fate of beasts is the same; as one dies, so dies the other. They all have the same breath, and man has no advantage over the beasts; for all is vanity. All go to one place; all are from the dust, and all turn to dust again.” (From Eccles. 3:1-22)

“Memento hominis quod pulvis tuus est, et in pulverem reverteris..”.

Ash Wednesday comin’ for us all..
