PopeWatch: Sex Trafficked Kids

Mass illegal migration brings a host of evil in its wake.  Pope Francis, and most of our Cardinals and Bishops, blithely ignore these evils.  Time for lay Catholics to speak out against this indifference to the evil created by the Open Border policies embraced by the men who misrule the Church.

Amen.
We finally have someone listening to the laity and it isn’t some of their Bishops.

My sons pointed out during the Sound of Freedom kerfuffle that the only time our nation gets unhinged about modern sex slavery and other forms of modern slavery is when someone brings it up. They’re right. Apart from the odd feature story about some agency that helps victims of sex trafficking (and almost always confined to local news outlets), or the occasional moment of prayer, it’s seldom mentioned. Unless, again, something like Sound of Freedom, or the GOP response to the Sate of the Union, comes out and then those are eviscerated with round the clock attacks for weeks on end.

You all have read what I have written before about immigration. My wife’s side of the family is made of immigrants – LEGAL immigrants. Every illegal immigrant is one less legal immigrant. Right now we are trying to get my wife’s son – my step-son – and his family over here on a work-related immigration path. My step-son’s wife (a nurse) already has a job lined up for her. We paid for various things to get this done: NCLEX exam, interviews and background checks, various kinds of paperwork, etc. Relative to my wife’s daughter – my step-daughter – we paid the same, even to the point of paying off her “indentured servitude” at a hospital in Pennsylvania so that she, her husband, and children could move down here to the Carolinas to be with us. I am guessing we have paid tens of thousands of dollars because the immigration process is so freaking broken by these illegals. If I say anything more, I will be cursing like the submarine sailor that I am. I will only add that I shall NOT darken the door of another Novus Ordo Parish nor give one red cent that has any possibility of going to the USCCB, the Vatican or Pope Francis. They got no idea the confusion and angst and strife that they have caused by their Pharisaical self-righteous sanctimonious pontification. With a few happy exceptions, I despise the Epsicopate and Presbytery.

I was rather pleasantly surprised to see this story concerning the Colorado Bishops’ Conference, which issued a reasonably balanced statement on the Trump immigration policies, acknowledging that “an open border is not a just system” for citizens nor for immigrants themselves.

The bishops (Francis foremost among them) remind me of this gem from F. Scott FizGerald:
==
They were careless people, Tom and Daisy—they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness, or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made. . . .
==
It applies not just to the bishops, but to our politicians, the media, academe, the legal profession, and much of the professional-managerial class generally.

When was the last time rogue elements of the Church had to contend with an outspokenly orthodox Catholic head of state?

Never, in America, but when was the last time in a major country? 🤔

Art- disturbingly, that description also fit the French aristocracy just before the Revolution. Hopefully, the Trump years will push these people back sufficiently to avoid disaster.

“No one is opposed to legal immigration, although questions arise to how many to admit in any given year.”

The problem is that legal immigration can sometimes be used as a band aid solution to an immediate problem.

Government should be encouraging and incentivising citizens to have more children, rather than relying on mass immigration to fill vacancies in the workforce etc…

The big issue, in my neck of the woods, is that the government has dumped tens of thousands of immigrants from Asia (Chinese, Indian) into Sydney and Melbourne, post-Covid. And the number is climbing. Consequently, we now have a housing shortage crisis, an ability to find workers who speak or communicate in English competently and a host of other issues relating to integration into mainstream western society (whole suburbs of one ethnicity, which has created a ghetto). Many are Uber and delivery drivers…I don’t know how some of them have obtained their license. To be frank, it’s frustrating to the average citizen because it was a massive dump of immigrants in one go. Too much!

Legal immigration is good, but western countries should be adjusting the ratio and bringing people in from western nations as well as non-western, and prioritising Christian over non-Christian…But more importantly, rejuvenating the current population through a higher birthrate.

Amen. Husband of one and sponsor of two other immigrants. It brings a smile to my face to be accused of being ‘anti-immigrant’. As do accusations that I am ignorant and don’t read books. Heh! My library is upwards of 700 books. Sometimes I post rebuttals with a photo of me and my books…….

I am currently studying this proposition:

Is how the Catholic Church, from papacy to parish level-condones, facilitates, encourages and abets criminal entrance into the USA – to include paying for food, clothing, shelter and teaching English classes-doing something like those who formally cooperate in the evil of abortion by knowingly driving a teenage girl to an abortion business and giving her the money to pay for killing her baby?

Guy-

Short answer: YES

Next study….
Does the Church hierarchy have any idea what it’s purpose and mission are?
