Diversity is Our Strength

Trump’s expulsion of illegal aliens might end up being his most popular policy.  Oh, and no matter how much you hate the mainstream media, you probably don’t hate them enough:

I listened to a fascinating Lex Fridman podcast the other day, in which Lex interviewed Daily Caller journalist (and now podcaster) Saagar Enjeti. Mr. Enjeti brought up the increasingly obvious fact that corporate media is less in the business of journalism and more about marketing narratives, and then tied that to his own experience with White House press briefings.

Mr. Enjeti described how the rules surrounding White House press briefings— who gets to attend, who sits up front, how independent media can be sidelined in favor of the big corporate outlets— are surprisingly set up not by the White House, but by the White House Press Association, aka the big corporate outlets themselves. Which explains how over the years the corporate media has turned White House press briefings into a shell of what it should be.

Enjeti went on to observe that President-elect Trump won despite the efforts of the increasingly irrelevant, credibility-challenged dinosaur media. Instead, Trump gave access to independent media like Joe Rogan and Theo Von— and that exposure likely decided his victory last month.

Which gives this incoming administration a powerful incentive to restructure how White House press briefings are done, giving access to new media and breaking the stranglehold of the corporate narrative-sellers with their shrinking audiences.

Lex Fridman’s interview with Saagar Enjeti clocked in at over three hours, but if you search YouTube for “How to Fix Journalism— Mainstream Media is a Cartel / Saagar Enjeti and Lex Fridman”, you’ll find an eleven-minute clip wherein Mr. Enjeti describes how the sausage is made in the White House Press Room and how it needs to change. Highly recommend!

Cars spontaneously driving themselves into Christmas crowds. People spontaneously combusting in the NY subways. Catholic churches mysteriously burning. Satanic graffiti appearing out of nowhere.

What a long, strange trip it’s been.

The illegal alien is only half this story.

The other half is how does this happen in a civilized city? It is, in my experience, very hard to be alone in a NYC subway. Where were the civilized bystanders? Could it be, that in an anonymous society they continue to ignore each other? Is that despite or because of what happened with Daniel Penny?

Also fishy are two other facts. Why was any sane or well person sleeping on a subway in NYC??? How did flames engulf someone in a matter of seconds?? Anyone trying to light a fire this time of year knows how reluctantly things burn, let alone burst into flame. There is more here that’s not been told. Real reporting is the real endangered species!

The fact that bystanders would do nothing is directly related to high levels of immigration. The basic problem is that we live in a low trust society. There are many factors contributing to this, including the upheaval of traditional community structures by technology and the decline in Christianity in the US. However, high amounts of immigration are a big part of the reason we live in a low-trust society, maybe the biggest. It’s impossible to have a high-trust environment in a society with high amounts of immigrants, since immigrants are not part of the community (they are at best trying to join the community, but these days they rarely even do that.) When the immigrants themselves come from a low-trust society, meaning that they do not even care for each other much less Americans, the situation is even worse.
