I wonder who the reporter was who filed the story. Seems he just talked to a local cop or two and sent in his piece. Nothing about Hitler’s “fan club” that brought him all the comforts of a Hofbrau and probably cheered his release. That Hitler achieved local popularity might not have seemed interesting enough to isolationist America at the time to suggest further research to the editor (and who was that?) And how did someone with a radical socialist vision get dubbed “reactionary”?
…and here I was half wondering if I was reading something from the Babylon Bee….
