True to an extent. Where would Tesla be without mandates and subsidies? But while those factors contributed to Tesla’s success, they have brought Ford and others to the brink of bankruptcy. And of course, that’s how the Commie would like it: one corporation left standing is so much easier to control.

Indeed, Tesla would not be what it is without the despotic manipulation of market conditions. However, I think it entirely likely that Elon Musk would have simply leveraged whatever other conditions existed before the heavy government thumb was placed on the scales in favor of electric vehicles. In which case, we would have him working on products that are wanted instead of products we are directed to want.
