Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
I’m for Wales becoming the 51st state.
For the Corgis!
Fun, or maybe not so fun, facts: the GDP of Great Britain ($2.81 trillion as of 2019) is slightly less than that of California ($2.97 trillion) but its per capita GDP ($46,000) is lower than that of Mississippi ($47,000). If the UK or any of its components (England, Scotland, Wales, N. Ireland) became US states they would be relatively poor states.
I assume this is tongue in cheek.
Low skill, low wage, low productivity mode in Britain along with very low levels of investment. The Pound hasn’t taken a hit though and remains strong. Not all *doom and gloom* in Britain. Thank God for the rest of us.
We can barely govern ourselves.
