You Are There

May God always still the storms in our path during our journey through this Vale of Tears until we are safe in the port of Heaven.

Sometimes Jesus doesn’t bring you through the storm; He brings you under the storm, hence the US Submarine Service! 😉

Prayer of Thanksgiving

II Nocturn

PSALM 17, i

I LOVE thee, O Lord, my strength,
3. O Lord, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer.
My God, my rock of refuge,
my shield, the strength of my salvation, my stronghold!
4. I will call upon the Lord, most praiseworthy,
and I will be safe from my foes.
5. The waves of destruction engulfed me,
and the torrents of iniquity terrified me;
6. The bonds of hell surrounded me,
the snares of death enmeshed me.
7. In my distress I called upon the Lord,
and unto my God I cried out;
And from his temple he heard my voice,
and my cry came to his ears.
8. The earth shook and trembled,
the foundations of the mountains quaked
and rocked, because he was burning with rage.
9. Smoke rose from his nostrils,
and from his mouth a devouring fire,
fire-brands were enkindled by him.
10. He lowered the heavens and came down…

PSALM 17, ii

HE reached forth from on high, he grasped me,
he drew me out of many waters.
18. He rescued me from my mighty foe,
and from my enemies, who were too strong for me.
19. They attacked me in the day of my misfortune,
but the Lord was my support,
20. And he led me forth into an open space,
he saved me, because he loves me.

Jesus calming the storm in the last episode of season three of The Chosen is very powerful also.

@Ezabelle – I like it! You can choose to surf the waves that God sends in a storm! Brilliant! I am sure my 12-step sponsor would love the analogy (and remind me of it when I least want to be reminded 😉 ) In fact, he would say, “Paul, God gives you choices in the storms of life: be a submariner and swim below the waves, or be a surfer and ride the waves. Stop complaining and make a choice. Don’t drink and go to meetings.”

“Jesus, please help me”. The last words of 7 year old Micah on a house roof as he was swept away from his mother and grandparents into the raging river. Only the mother survived. When the roof collapsed she was caught in debris. Micah’s mother said it was comforting that for her son’s last words he called upon the Lord. New York Post article with pictures.

LQC – God Bless You and all navigating the storms in our lives.

Cam – prayers for that dear boy. 😢 and his mother and family. May he rest in Jesus loving arms for all eternity.
