We are expected to believe that a 20 year old, out of the blue one fine day, suddenly decided to attempt to assassinate Trump. Total silence from government agencies as to their investigation. We have learned that Trump would have been better guarded by the fabled Keystone Kops then the Secret Service detail on duty to day. I find it hard not to conclude that very powerful forces within our government want Trump dead.

The country is not the government.
I left Washington (as a place of employment and as a resident) 30 years ago. It took 13 months to find another job and during that time I questioned if I made the right choice. For the past 29 years I have not regretted leaving.
Official Washington is far worse than a swamp. It is a septic tank badly in need of pumping. September 11, the financial meltdown of 2008 and to a degree Covid all have criminal incompetence on the part of both elected officials and Washington bureaucrats as major contributing factors.
In Washington, ideology rules, even with overwhelming evidence that the ideology is a failure.
It was bad before but Obama made countless things worse.
There is not a government department or office that he and his minions did not politicize.
If people would wake up and throw out the crooks….but they don’t.
There has been very little local (Pittsburgh area) news about the assassination attempt or the shooter.
Granted, I rarely read the local newspapers. The Post Gazette operates behind a oaywall and it has always been a Democrat Party mouthpiece. The Tribune Review editorial page always despised Trump..it is libertarian and cannot be accessed if Adblock is in place.
The local TV news. (KDKA/CBS, WTAE/ABC and WPXI/NBC) act as functionaries/mouthpieces for the Democrat Party. So I rarely watch them either.
The would be assasin lived in Bethel Park, less than ten miles from my house. It must be pointed out that gun ownership is a way of life in Western Pennsylvania and suburbs, exurbs and rural areas do not differ in this respect. My immediate neighbors likely have more guns than some countries.

I wholeheartedly agree with your summation of the administrative state. I was only in federal service eight years but it was enough to show me the rot. I stayed until I was told point blank to do something unethical. I left the highest paying job I’ll ever have with no back up plan. It wasn’t easy but God provided. I do not regret it, though I miss some good folks there and the (sporadic) opportunity to work *for* America.
You missed the part about how the administrative state’s first loyalty is the good of the administrative state, but I know you know 🙄
I have said to my husband many times in this past year that even if Trump manages to win the election in spite of the inevitable “irregularities” that will arise, he will never be allowed to serve out his term as president. He will be stopped by corrupt courts or taken out of the equation by other means. I fear this was just a first bungled attempt.

According to the media presented in the MSM, we still aren’t sure if the Steve Scalise shooter had political motivations. It’s all so complicated. I mean, just because he had widely posted about his hatred for Donald Trump and all Republicans, including making explicit death threats, and had specifically asked where the Republicans were playing before he started shooting, does that mean that we can be certain that he was politically motivated?
And apparently there was just another assassination attempt on Donald Trump, though thankfully this one was nowhere near as close to succeeding as the last one.
Considering how most outlets are reporting this only as “shots were fired somewhere in the vicinity of Donald Trump,” don’t expect to learn much about why this happened either.
Breaking news, there was ANOTHER attempt on President Trump’s life!
Get rid of the Bushes, Pelosi, Clintons and the Obamas. All self-serving for the wrong reasons.
Start new. The US government needs a reset. I always said if America gets its act together then the rest of the world will also.
