If they had any concern for faithful they would make him resign.
If they had any concern for his soul, the synods would be about this topic

I can tell you that as a 20+ year veteran of teaching theology in Catholic high schools, no one has made my job more difficult than the current occupant of the Chair of St. Peter, not even soft wishy-washy administrators.

Will there need to be a “De-Francisization” akin to the post-Stalin Soviet Union within the Church?

Josh-
Who would do it?
Our clergy are either complicit, apathetic, or lack the fortitude to engage. Far too many otherwise good clergy are afraid of losing their place. (Hard to criticize their fear of being canceled though when I myself often decline the invitation to greater holiness. 💔) Neither the clergy nor myself will be changed by anything as predictable and commonplace as Francis dying.

The only thing holding the Catholic Church together is Christ’s guarantee. Nothing else would be powerful enough to counteract the hubris and folly that characterizes the leadership of the Church in our lifetime.

Pray for better clergy, and work to become worthy of such leaders.

Feser is absolutely right and he is mild! Honorius was far, far less problematic than PF. And his errors were on esoterica compared to the bread and butter essential issues that PF utterly contemns!
