Something for the weekend. Sound track suite from Cromwell (1970). The movie is available on Youtube. Richard Harris gives a powerful performance as the English military dictator Oliver Cromwell and Alec Guinness steals every scene he is in as King Charles I. The movie is basically a hagiography of Cromwell, trying to make him appear as a contemporary democrat, which would have shocked and appalled that bold, bad man. It mangles the history of that immensely complicated period in English history, but as entertainment it is mesmerizing.
Bonus:
Just for fun:
It occurs to be that if King Charles had been half as charismatic as Sir Alec Guinness, he would have won the Civil War!
Especially if he had his skill with a light saber 😁
The damage Cromwell caused Britain almost led an ambitious French to supplant them in the New World.
