What is it about journalists? They just can’t seem to help themselves. They’re always editorializing, even when we can check the truth of what they write in an instant.
I suspect it’s the same thing that taints every other aspect of modern society: greed. Someone has a monetary interest in a certain outcome; forks over the money to make sure his version of the story is published; the journalist gets paid some fraction of the original “payment”; and nobody cares if lies and half-truths are associated with his good name.
