I remember when the bodies of those thirteen servicemen arrived at Arlington. Biden was there as the coffins were taken from the plane one by one. Those in attendance stood in silence through the ceremony, which took some time for thirteen caskets. The photo op long done, Biden appeared to become impatient at having to remain on the tarmac as one body after another was slowly, reverently deplaned. Eventually Biden took to blatantly checking his watch while those around him continued to stand in silence.

I was shocked then by Biden’s callousness, his sense of entitlement, and his obvious “are we done yet?” attitude. By contrast, President Trump’s actions at Arlington were, well, presidential. This is how it should be done.

Clinton, Your detailed description of that solemn ceremony is how I remember it. In the waiting room with the Gold Star families Biden’s thoughtless comments insulted them. “It was all about him”, as one mother said. Several said, “We felt disrespected by him”. Biden called one grieving mother by the wrong name. In contrast Trump seems genuinely heartfelt in his comments. He quietly visits or calls grieving families.
