Thoughts:
- Biden-Striking that the Democrats now think so little of Biden that his speech did not begin until 11:30 PM Eastern Time. I suspect he delivered a modified form of the speech he had planned to deliver to accept the nomination. He did not go off script, which probably relieved the Harris minions, praising himself, Harris and damning Trump. Like most Biden speeches, it was long on rage and short on truth.
- Cupich-In his invocation Cupich somehow managed to not mention Christ or abortion at a political convention where abortion is celebrated as a sacrament. I can think of no better representative of Pope Francis to the Party of Death.
- Abortion-The crowd struck me as being rather listless, at least initially for a national convention, and most speakers used abortion as a guaranteed applause line.
- Clinton-Hillary Clinton gave a surprisingly brief seventeen minute speech in which she assured her fellow Democrats that this time they were finally going to defeat
the road runnerTrump. - Jackson-One of the sadder moments was when 82 year old Jesse Jackson was wheeled out, ailing from Parkinsons. I have never been a fan, but his ending is sad.
- AOC-She gave the raw meat speech to the Democrats. All she needed to do was perform an abortion on stage for her act to be complete.
- Doctor Jill-She delivered a brief four minute speech, no doubt internally through gritted teeth.
- Mobs-They tore down some of the security convention fence, but the whole thing had a pro forma feel to it. Leftist loons may decry the Democrats, but this time, as opposed to 1968, they know their fellow Leftist loons are in control of the party.

How any national abortion law passes constitutional muster since homicide is adjudicated at the state level is puzzling to me.
Greg, Roe V Wade was the law of the land for 50 years without being able to pass Constitutional muster!
And Roe v Wade was finally overturned because it was unconstitutional. That’s my point.
They don’t care if it passes constitutional muster. They’ve already taken several actions that were extensions of things previously declared unconstitutional, like the CDC’s eviction moratorium.
One thing that they realize is that any human institution only has power because the humans within it agree to it, or are forced to agree by force. If a politician says “you must do this” and everyone does it, then he de facto has power to do it, even if every written law says that he did not. That’s not to say that his actions aren’t illegal, of course. Rather, if all you care about are results, then illegality only matters to the extent that someone is willing to punish you for breaking the law.
More and more dems are to the point where they don’t even bother to pretend to be following the law, since they believe that their opponents will not punish them. The country can only endure if they are in fact punished.
