Went to college in WV. Love the song, even though the writers used western Montgomery County, MD as their inspiration – just 45 minutes from where I grew up in suburban DC. Was watching a studio ghibli movie w grandson and was surprised when they started playing and singing this – no way!

One of my favorite songs – and indeed John Denver one of my favorite artists – of the 1970’s. Have always loved C & W music even when I was a kid.
