Hard to believe that we are six decades away from the twentieth commemoration of D-Day. It is telling that the mightiest military force this nation has ever raised was led by a man from Kansas, raised in an intensely religious family. His concern for the men under his command was genuine, and he left instructions that he was to be buried just as the troops he had commanded had been buried during what he called The Great Crusade.
