PopeWatch: The Lavender Mafia Never Sleeps

Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.

Bishop Savino, who has been the vice president of the Italian Episcopal Conference since 2022, stated: “We have a profoundly evolving understanding of sexuality, much richer, freer and more open than was given in traditional societies. Often as an ecclesial community we run the risk of fearing rather than welcoming whatever good can emerge from the relationships between people with their own and other people’s corporeality.” Denouncing “human slowness and prejudices” — apparently aimed at those who adhere to Church teaching on sexuality — he says: “The Church is either inclusive or it is not!”
I prefer that kid from kindergarten cop.
What about heaven?
Heaven is either inclusive or it is not. Humm.
If the church refuses to instruct and admonish what good is heaven or the thought of it?
It’s unattainable, recalling Christ telling us that without him it’s impossible.
Sheep must enter through the gate. No one may enter by climbing over the wall. Christ is the gate.
Unrepentant sinners who we’re sold a paradise have a rude awakening coming to them.
Heaven is not inclusive.
The Church is full of repentant sinners.
Homosexuals / heterosexuals who are not willing to stop their vice… not even considering it, are only bringing upon themselves more heartache by participating in the Holy sacrifice of the Mass.
I would hope that Bishop Savino is a good teacher.
Is Savino saying that Paul was wrong, or that the Holy Spirit changed His mind?
The problem with “evolving” sin and morality is that it then must assume that centuries of earlier teaching were in error. Who wants to belong to a church that spends centuries teaching error? Remember, a prime steak can “evolve” into an inedible frazzle if “evolved” too far.
Anybody else remember Meryl Streep’s character in Manhattan, when she tell her ex-husband (Woody Allen) with a little sneer, “Look at you, you’re so threatened”? Well, that’s the response these Lavender Ladies provoke from me.
It’s funny – everytime one of these bishop heads of some congregation of blah blah, comes out in defence of the indefensible, they have then and there admitted themselves to being of homosexual orientation. And so the Faithful can put a scratch to their name and ignore anything they say going forward. That’s inclusiveness.
Thanks Savino, you make it so easy for us.
