The Cost of Bigotry

Senator Mike McDonnell of Nebraska, in the unicameral legislature all the representatives are senators, has switched to the Republican party, noting that his pro-life stance made him anathema in the Democrat party.  McDonnell is a Roman Catholic, and Democrats have not been shy about attacking his faith.  He has also announced that he is supportive of a Republican initiative to make Nebraska a winner take all electoral state.  With his switch the GOP might have enough votes to do it in the Nebraska legislature. This would eliminate the one electoral vote that the Democrats have gotten out of Nebraska via the Omaha congressional district and give all five electoral votes to Trump.

Why this might be important:  if this goes through, and if Trump wins all the states he won in 2020, plus Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada, all states Trump is ahead in according to polls, there would be an electoral tie of 269-269.  The tie would be resolved in the House where the delegations would vote by states, winner take all, which would give the GOP an insurmountable advantage.  As of now I think Trump would win more states than this, but it is always good to have an insurance policy, and this would cause the Democrats to pump more money in fighting on good turf for Trump.

Push someone around long enough and the payback by them can be awesome indeed.

In New England and elsewhere, there are many people who would never vote for Trump, but will likely be voting for Kennedy. And so the “Democrats” are pursuing lawfare to also keep Kennedy off the ballots to protect “Democracy”.

You know something is out of whack when me and my warring siblings agree the Democrat party has been taken over by Marxists/Communist.
I hope Kennedy pulls enough votes from Biden to make him not just lose, crushed completely as Marxism should be.

It would be the height of irony if RFK Jr’s candidacy, with his radical lefty VP pick, contributed to the defeat of the neo-Marxist party in this election. Leftist autophagy, anyone?

Recently, I saw a brief article by a Martin Gurri on the Regime in Cuba. His assessment is that late stage communism is a mafia. That’s what we’re encountering here in one sense. The nexus formed by the media, the education sector, various professional guilds, much of the court system, the tech sector, the federal security state, and Democratic pols and their minions are a mafia. Street-level Democrats pretend it isn’t happening or they’re content with this. Another way to look at it is that we’re ruled by a hopeless collection of Bourbons. Yapping about ‘Marxism’ or ‘communism’ or ‘socialism’ is an unilluminating distraction. The problem is corruption, privilege, and abuse of power.

One aspect of this is the intensification of cultural tendencies manifest in the education sector for some time. See the recent legislation in Ireland and Scotland which J.K. Rowling is now defying. The mentality is very familiar. Democratic politicians in this country are facing (for the time being) some institutional constraints about enacting similar legislation here; they’d do it in a heartbeat if they weren’t.

This will not end well.
