I was on the road with my Bride yesterday. After we attended a games auction at Games Plus in Mount Prospect, we got back to our hotel room at about 8:30 PM Central Time and I watched about half of the State of the Union address. These events are always insignificant and I can’t recall a State of the Union address that mattered either on substance or politically, but a few things attracted my attention:
- Biden was more wired than I have ever seen him. I assume he was packed to the gills with anti-dementia drugs happy juice and that this was a reaction to said medication.
- His yelling and stridency I assume may also have been a reaction, or perhaps it was a deliberate tactic.
- His speech consisted of short sentences that did not congeal into a greater whole. In short it was a meandering mess.
- Devout Catholic Biden wants another term courtesy of murdered unborn kids.
- The Gaza Port idea is the worst foreign policy idea that I have heard in many years. Why we would be doing it was left unanswered. Who would pay for the supplies was left unanswered. Who would supply security was left unanswered. How the supplies would be distributed was left unanswered. Biden’s contention that this would be done offshore and no American boots would be in Gaza is farcial. This has quagmire written all over it. I assume this is being done because Biden, or rather his puppetmasters, think this will appease Muslim Democrats in Michigan. I think their political calculus is utterly mistaken, and this misbegotten idea will quickly unite almost all Americans in opposition to it.
- Mr. President, the name of the young nursing student murdered as a consequence of your policy of erasing the southern border is Laken Riley, not Lincoln Riley.
- The disturbance during the speech was caused by a Dad whose Marine son was killed in Afghanistan during the disgraceful bugout presided over by Biden
- It was relatively short as these things go, and that was all to the good.
“ His yelling and stridency I assume may also have been a reaction, or perhaps it was a deliberate tactic.”
As a self acclaimed “expert” (not), having visited dementia patients as a volunteer for a number of years, and watching their progressive decline, a patient getting angry, hostile, exhibiting a somewhat rational but combative reaction, that is something you see that is very consistent. Classic dementia profile.
I didn’t watch it. The press the next day emphasized how feisty and energetic he was. They also mentioned the heckling from Republicans. Apparently there were no gaffes or anything, since the reports I watched didn’t mention any. According to the press analysts on the morning news, this turned a corner for the president. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see.
Dave G, take a look at Megyn Kelly’s summary on her YT channel. I didn’t watch the speech either, because I was having a good day and didn’t want it spoiled. But from Megyn’s take it seems likely that the Drooler In Chief provided Trump with lots of prime ad material for the campaign.
Gaza Port: A pretext perhaps? Installing a “temporary” pier will almost certainly lead to a Palestinian attack on it sooner or later. Such would then require a Navy vessel to “guard” the pier. Still technically not boots on the ground, yet still carrying a lot of firepower.
Wait, there’s more…. after Biden mentioned “Lincoln” Riley he seemed to add something about “how many thousands have been killed by illegals”. Now the White House has “clarified” that he meant “how many thousands have been killed by LEGALS” — and if you listen to the speech again real closely it does appear that is what he actually said, albeit slurred. So Biden’s point, apparently, was to dismiss the significance of her murder because thousands of others have been murdered by legal citizens/residents. Talk about digging yourself into a deeper hole….
