I guess the epithet “extreme MAGA Republicans” was losing polling traction.
Sadly, it’s not only tiresome. It’s effective.
The big promoters of the ‘Christian nationalist’ epithet are Vichy evangelicals. John Fea of Messiah College foremost among them.
Isn’t a Christian Nationalist someone who is a Christian and loves their country? I guess that’s what I am. Why is that a bad thing?
They’ll push a narrative like “cops are killing black men” for years, until something happens somewhere (George Floyd), then that’s magnified and spun out of control with a demand of “See! It’s ALL True!”
That’s what they’re doing with “Christian nationalism” which they’re framing as an offshoot of “white supremacy”.
Yup, this is the narrative being pushed:

The best defence is to own their label proudly! If you declare without blinking- Yes I am a Christian and I love my country- watch it backfire colossally. Play with their little minds the way they are trying to play with yours.
Their aim is to intimidate you and make you crawl under your rock so they are free to do as they please, unopposed.
So wear their labels proudly, don’t back down.
I agree with Ezabelle. I am a Christian Nationalist. My Creed is Nicaean, and my Fealty is the Pledge of Allegiance. Jesus Christ is Lord, Savior, and King, and all nations and peoples shall bow before Him.
