Saint Thomas More was a remarkable man. One evidence of this is that while he was lodged in the Tower of London he wrote books. The final book was entitled The Sadness of Christ, a meditation on His Passion. This Lent we will use selections from this work as our own Lenten meditations. More wrote in Latin, and the translation we will be using is that of his granddaughter, Mary Basset. Do not be fooled by the title. Saint Thomas More had a fundamentally joyous view of life, even under the shadow of the headman’s axe, and that comes through in his final book.
God bless all of you.
I enjoy TAC.. and have for a few years now.. over ten I believe.
Have a meaningful Lenten journey.
One of my offerings is a silent retreat from posting on the Internet, especially one’s that I frequent. For some of you this will be joyous news…ok wait. For All of you. :&) You’ve put up my poor grammar far too long now. Enjoy the break.
Peace be yours…
See you on Easter Sunday.
Have a good Lent Philip! I will miss your contributions during it.
I’m not worried about the wind, but I think the first mate is organizing a mutiny!
