Oh oh….
Bishop to become chopped liver;
ASTANA, Kazakhstan (LifeSiteNews) — The Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Saint Mary in Astana, Kazakhstan, in conjunction with Saint Mary’s Auxiliary Bishop Athanasius Schneider, have banned priests in the archdiocese from accepting or allowing any forms of “blessings” for “irregular” or homosexual couples.
“We exhort and prohibit priests and the faithful of the Archdiocese of Saint Mary in Astana from accepting or performing any form of blessing whatsoever of couples in an irregular situation and same-sex couples,” they wrote in a statement released today.
How dare he? 😉
Speaking of the Church not being destroyed, anyone know any good books on how the French faithful, lay and ecclesiastic, weathered the revolution years?
I’m obviously looking for an esoteric read with no bearing on current events. 🙄
Bruised Optimist. at a guess, by following Br’er Rabbit’s maxim, “Lay low and say nuthin'”.
Interesting question. “Song at the Scaffold” about Carmelites who became saints. They didn’t survive the Revolution but it’s a good read. The nuns sacrifice and the ensuring graces surely helped those left behind.
I suspect there were many Scarlet Pimpernal types who rescued some of the faithful. Maybe historian Warren Carroll founder of Christendom College wrote something about an under ground rail road of sorts in his book The Guillotine and the Cross?
