Burn of the Day

Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
So Maximum Beans reminds us that he is still a vapid imitation of a Catholic scholar. Meh.
“Lickspittle” is putting it mildly.
Gerard O’Connell is the Rome correspondent for America magazine. Elisabetta Pique is described as a close friend of Francis, wrote an approving biography of him (“Pope Francis: Life and Revolution”), and is Rome correspondent for the Argentine newspaper la Nacion.
In her tweet, Pique thanked Christopher White, Rome correspondent for the National Catholic Reporter; and Francis apologist Massimo Faggioli, lickspittle extraordinaire.
The tweet exchange between Pique and O’Connell is a cluster of people who have made their living shilling for Francis and his agenda. Of course they’d like Francis to do worse to Cardinal Burke.
Obi Wan Kenobi said of the spaceport Mos Eisley that one would never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. Obi Wan, of course, had never seen what ten years of Francis has done to Rome.
