Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.

We need to get some Plumbers on the Synod committees.
“Only male-female couplings will bond and form a fruitful Union”.
Is it to late?
Remember how those who called this out as the likely endgame after Amoris Laetitia were excoriated as conspiracy theorists and accused of pushing schism? I still vividly recall Dale Ahlquist once on EWTN actually sneering at someone who suggested the “communion for adulterers” footnote in AL was the proverbial camel’s nose under the tent. “All this over one footnote. One footnote.” I stopped paying any attention to him after that, but he surely wasn’t the only one singing that song, as many of the so-called “conservative Catholics” tried desperately to defend Francis for years after his installation. Most of the “Apologetics, Inc.” types rarely mention him now.
Frank, Ahlquist did a debate with Michael Matt over communion for the remarried. I remember Matt showed a segment in which Ahlquist lamented over some friends who couldn’t receive and just how unfair it was. I used to read his stuff on Chesterton, but the debate has really soured me on him. I seriously doubt GK Chesterton would have sided with Dale on that point about communion.
This was the reporting on my morning Catholic Radio on the way to school drop off: EWTN News:
The gathering today opened with an emotional appeal from Dominican Father Timothy Radcliffe, saying, “We are called to embrace a deeper sense of who we are as the improbable friends of the Lord, whose scandalous friendship reaches across every boundary. Many of us wept when we heard of that young woman who committed suicide because she was bisexual and did not feel welcomed in the Church. I hope it changed us. The Holy Father reminded us that all are welcome.
Naturally, had to switch radio stations to the secular one. What is happening in the world…??
However, it was good to read our Archbishop Anthony Fisher (of Sydney) talking sense (along with a fellow lay Australian):
Archbishop Fisher spoke about the “Nones,” those “who say they have no faith in the sense that they tick the ‘no religion’ box. Half the young people are saying they don’t have any faith.” He said this is the big issue for the Church today. In contrast, he said, the number of women who desire to be deacons is “trivial when you look at the huge loss of faith we are seeing in entire generations.*
Fellow Australian and Synod participant Professor Renée Köhler-Ryan echoed the Archbishop’s feelings. She spoke at the Synod press conference yesterday, saying the issue of female priesthood is a “niche issue that does not reflect the needs of women today.
She stated further, “As a woman, I’m not focused at all on the fact that I’m not a priest. I think that there’s too much emphasis placed on this question, and what happens when we put too much emphasis on this question is that we forget about what women, for the most part, throughout the world, need.
Well done.
Amen, Ezabelle. 👍
I have been telling folks that this was all about normalizing perverted sex for years. It has been as plain as day to me. I will not be part of a Church that supports homosexuality. It is a complete waste of time. It has been as plain as day that PF would split the church if necessary in order to reach his goal of normalizing perverted sex. Quit making excuses & deal with reality that is staring you in the face, folks.
@ Ezabelle: “… The gathering today opened with an emotional appeal from Dominican Father Timothy Radcliffe…”
Timothy Radcliffe. “The usual suspects…”
Steve and Frank- I had kids in the car who I’m trying to teach to love the Church and follow Christs commandments, so it was pretty hard listening to the “Catholic” news saying the exact opposite.
We have all read comments on this blog from good Catholic regular commenters over the past week, suffering because their children have abandoned their Faith. Catholics who did their best to pass on the Faith. And here is EWTN and the Catholic Church doing everything possible to broadcast that Timothy Radcliffe is asking us to accept bisexuals into the Church. No admonishment if sin. Just pure acceptance.
ADDICTS
All addicts forfeit some of their freedom through addiction, the forced behavior of the addicting environment.
Persons addicted to any vice are compelled to behave against their better self.
An addict’s better judgement is not made and if it is made it is ignored to the abuse of the human being.
An addict’s fully informed consent is never achieved since the addict chooses to satisfy his addiction rather than thinking the matter through to the best action and good result.
Sodomites addicted to the vice of lust have not realized the one and only truth about addiction, any and all addiction to evil vices, and that is that the addiction cannot be satisfied.
Performing sodomy in hell for all eternity will not and cannot satisfy sodomy and the addiction to the vice of lust because that is the nature of evil in addiction.
Human laws are being passed to make sodomy safe. No law not human nor divine can make an evil thing holy, desireable or safe. Indecent assault and battery remains indecend assault and battery; feckless, useless and unsatisfying; a way to hell for all users.
I dreamed I went into the confessional. A priestess, a woman was there in the place of an ordained priest. The woman priestess said: ” I absolve you from your sins, now go in peace.” I did not feel absolved from my sins and I did not feel at peace.
Women may be ordaind with no vocation from God, nor can the so called priestess function as a true priest who has a vocation from God.
The work of God will be acomplished through individuals with a true calling, a vocation from God to the ordained priesthood, the Sacrament of Holy Orders.
My pastor once said that bigamists can stand in front of the altar all day saying “I will’ until they fall over, that does not make a marriage.
