Ambivalent about her cause for sainthood. I fear the Fishwrap crowd want to canonize her naive socialism rather than her witness to Christ. Open to correction.
“The good is oft interred with their bones.” Never so true and probably appropriate. The final judgement has already been made and nothing need be added to it.
Is the family supposed to be The Holy Family- indicated by their halos? Which part of scripture is this from – I don’t recall the The Holy Family looking for shelter after Jesus was born.
Interesting timing. There have been some room at inns concerns at the recent Army-Navy game that was was related to migrants.

I wonder if census related travel contributed to the problems that the Holy Family had in securing accommodations in Bethlehem? For the picture to capture the modern open borders immigration situation you would need to have the Holy Family be in a flood of immigrants with a very packed street behind the Holy Family. Like the current day caravans.

@ Ezabelle: The Holy Family traveled to Bethlehem and to Egypt.
GregB- yes I recall them travelling to Egypt but it doesn’t indicate them wandering looking for shelter as this picture indicates. This only occurred when they went to Bethlehem where Mary was due to give birth to Jesus. This image seems misleading.
