At that moment I pondered the very real possibility that proponents of abortion are looking at their future dwelling place.

Some years back, I remember reading an article about an Egyptian woman (unmarried) who had an affair with her well-to-do Egyptian boyfriend (also unmarried.) A pregnancy resulted.

The boyfriend wanted the baby gone and consulted his Imam about it. The Iman said to go ahead and abort the baby, just be sure to sacrifice a camel in reparations for that.

As I recall, she did not abort, but I can’t remember all the details.

I suspect Muslims are like the majority of folks when it comes to abortion –if they find themselves in an inconvenient situation, abortion is absolutely on the table.
So for some cultures, it’s open season on babies, both in the womb and out?
DJH- I second your analysis. The thing with Muslims, as a generalisation, is that they don’t condone “forbidden acts” publicly but most forbidden things are fine behind closed doors ie. alcohol, extramarital sex, homosexual relations, abortion…even paedophilia. What stand in their way? It’s not the Grace of God.

Given that there are multiple sects within both Islam (Sunni, Shia, Sufi, etc.) and Judaism (Orthodox, Conservative, Reform) that probably have different views on when abortion is allowed or tolerated, trying to pin down what Muslims or Jews in general believe regarding abortion is probably an impossible task, much like pinning down what “Christians” in general — ranging from Catholics and Evangelical Christians to liberal Protestant denominations — believe regarding abortion.
And, of course, even within those denominations that do have an official stance against abortion there are plenty of adherents who don’t follow it… some of whom are in positions of influencing public policy. IYKWIM.

Picture yourself portraying to be something your not and others believing you to the point of aiding the destruction of innocent life. Then, you have the unmitigated gall to tell your followers that the head of the universal Church endorses your conduct, saying that your in good standing with the church. You can partake of Holy Communion…and your followers decide that they too are in good standing and can take holy communion even though they are perpetuating a crime against humanity.

Every cloud has a silver lining.
I speak from living in a Muslim country. The Muslims here, US, are nothing like the Muslims in that country. But, I do know how they regard their wives in general- chattel – is universal. I was listed as chattel in my husbands visa. Iow, the property of someone else.
Are their different sects? Yes. But, they have a common root
