John 16:33
Douay-Rheims Bible
These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you shall have distress: but have confidence, I have overcome the world.
Poison, arrows, snares…. these things set up to harm or capture you won’t have any effect on you because you have me and are fighting thegood fight. Be confident therefore as you march forward in this battleground. Know that I am with you always as you proclaim the truth in a world which is ever abandoning truth for a substitute. False mercy is not truth.
Truth is a person. Jesus Christ.
The same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
-my guardian angel. 🙂
His PEACE is precious to us.
A great gift.
Hold Fast.
Maybe historians will consider renaming this thing to the “Give us Barabbas” synod?
I heard on EWTN news this morning that they have divided the delegates into groups, with the groups divided into their native tongue. Further, they are under strict instruction, religious and lay people to ensure they don’t discuss topics until they are instructed to. With many events being silent reflection and prayer. Also, there is an overwhelming number of female delegates and that this Synod will the the first of two- the next one will occur next year. Seriously, the priest who was being interviewed on EWTN did a poor job selling the gathering as anything dynamic or inspiring or even fruitful. But he did try poor thing…
The people running this show might call it a synod, but of course it’s no such thing and I will never dignify it with that name. And I definitely don’t see the need to reshape my faith based on whatever this glorified bull session finally extrudes.
I doubt there will be too much radical change coming out of this first simulated ‘synod’. Or the next. But if/when these bull sessions become a fixture, and pick up a veneer of respectability, then we can expect serious attempts made to alter Church doctrine and even dogma.
I hope the next Pope rejects this charade. Nothing good will come of this, only confusion, dissent, and the encouragement of those who hate the immemorial teachings of the Faith.

One of my favorite passages is from Letter to the Hebrews 13:8-9
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings.
That should be printed on a card and placed at each seat at the tables. Seems like many at the gathering called Synod must have slept through that lesson.
