Maybe he might consider at least scolding the demonic terrorists in the same “tut, tut” manner in which he scolds those who prefer the Latin Mass?
Quite a contrast to Pius V who organized the coalition that led to the victory at Lepanto..
With all due fairness, empathy for the Palestinians goes back before Pope Francis time.
St JP2 empathised with the Palestinians in the ME. He had a welcoming relationship with Arafat which went back to a meeting he had with him in 1982. Unfortunately this relationship added to the legitimacy of the PLO being freedom fighters rather than a terrorist organisation. This is a really good summary of the impact this relationship had on Jews and Christians in the region.

Biden of the East. An empty suit (cassock) with no value at all. But for God’s inexplicable and eternal love, the man would not exist.
The Pope (Francis) is not Catholic. Viva Cristo Rey!
He did condemn the weapons, though
The pope’s comments were no doubt informed by Catholic leaders in Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank. I’m sure they were undertaken with the understanding of the real risk of retaliation against the faithful if anything more pointed was offered. Not happy about it. But there are realities that no doubt had to be considered.
Faithful – he doesn’t know the right thing to say at the best of times and has never been one to tread lightly on anyone’s feelings. I don’t think he would be facing this sort of criticism if he had a track record of putting Faithful Catholics first and did his job properly. As a Catholic I would expect him to first – condemn the loss of life at the hands of Hamas, second – stand up for Catholics caught up in the bloodshed and lastly offer prayers for the Jewish people as our brothers and sisters. For him to now pretend to be neutral, after bowing to Muslims in the past when he had no need to, even at the expense of Catholics is a bit rich. But he has been proving that all of this is beyond his capabilities. He now has developed a reputation which unfortunately for him, can’t be shaken.
I’m sure they were undertaken with the understanding of the real risk of retaliation against the faithful if anything more pointed was offered.
