Go here to read the story. These are his people. The Pope’s closest associates have often been scandal ridden clerics. He prefers men who clearly have no principles, no beliefs and will do what they are told. Classic Peronism, which is completely foreign to Christianity.

I think sometimes we forget (the devil surely does) that in this Vale of Tears, this Permissive Providence..
God Holds All Cards.
I was holding on to a flimsy premise that he was teaching the world forgiveness unknowingly guessing that they are forgiven via reconciliation.
I could not agree with advancing said individuals due to the victims and their families and what pain they are experiencing. It would seem like rubbing salt in the wounds.
Again.
These are just some thoughts I had about why on earth this Pope would do these things.
I suppose that I have always hoped that he had some intention that had merit.
I think the most disturbing is not believing the victims.
The second is no semblance of justice.
When those are missing, it seems like it is more of power and control over person than holiness
I think it is rooted in his confidence in his opinions, be they of theology or of people. Once he’s made his mind up that someone is good or bad, based on their sycophantic support of him, he cannot be dissuaded.
Hillary and Biden will never be convicted in a court of law. Jorge will not be forced from the Chair of Peter.
In both cases, there is no ordinary power sufficient to compel it.
God may intervene through an extraordinary event, but He may not.
He will, however, preserve His Church.
The Pope is a ‘Peronist’ in the sense that he’s an economic illiterate and would generate a great deal of ruin if he had any influence in that realm. Peronists are quite troublesome for who they are. Wouldn’t wish to hold them responsible for the Pope’s intra-Church politicking, which is influenced by the Church’s own institutional currents. Don’t think the Peronist movement had a lavender mafia.
I think the Pope finds himself surrounded by bad seeds because he lacks the right leadership qualities for the role. Not only does he lack the intellectual calibre the role requires but he substitutes this missing intellectualism, deep-thinking with a type of political hustle he has learnt along the way. People flock to likeminded people. In the case of the Pope, the hustlers flock to him because they get eachother.
That’s a rather stupid title, and contradicts what Thompson himself says.
There’s no scandal that can drive a pope from the throne if he does not want to leave. Given how shameless he is, he’ll ride it out.

Philip: Jesus ate with repentant sinners. Unrepentant comtumacious sinners did not share friendship with Christ.
I wonder how many of the abusive clergy were sorry for what they did, and how many were only sorry that they were caught? How many did what the Good Thief on the Cross did and publicly repented? When St. Paul had his conversion experience he was willing to denounce his former way of life. It’s in the Bible. How many public sinners demonstrate equally public repentance?
