Me too. Except I don’t drink alcoholic beverages at airports!
It pains me to order a beer in a restaurant, when I can make 40 pints for $30.
I wonder if his bar tab was multiple spirits or just that one?

That’s still about $15 for what looks like a burger and fries. Plus, how many drinks did it take to get the other $63 dollars?
Not sure if it’s the same in the States, but here our government loves the tax they generate from alcohol imports and sales. So problem drinking or drinking in general is good business for government. We used to go out at night and be able to buy a glass of wine for $6 – this is less than two decades ago. These days it’s triple the price. Stick to water…we’ll…until they start putting a premium on that too.
Perhaps this explains some of Brooks’ recent political fantasies.
If I smoked as much as I did at age 24, cigarettes would now be costing me $5,200 a year. I gave up tobacco when I calculated I was spending north of $900 a year. (I gave up liquor due to it exacerbating a minor medical problem, which was just as well; stuff is pure poison for about 1 person in 4 in my family).

I have so many questions. He took the lettuce and tomato out of the burger, squeezed in three ketchup packets, and ate two bites? Hold on, I actually admire that ketchup to burger ratio.
First time I saw that, without reading the ingo about the bar bill, I thought that bar
glass was a dead giveaway. Must be the good stuff.
Dave G – $15 for burgers and fries. Spent, after CA taxes nearly $30 for 2 orders at Jack in the Box last week. Told my husband that, next time, we should just spring for a bit more and go to our favorite local restaurant, instead. Food is better and the waitresses know us.
