God Loves Irony: A Continuing Series,
- Donald R. McClarey
Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
So that’s where that dude from Clockwork Orange ended up.
What’s with the photo? Is he threatening to be the next Argentinian President? He has the “I’m coming for you” vibe down pat.
I don’t understand how those with no experience, knowledge or qualification can rise so easily amongst their peers to the level where they end up running a nation. How are people around them are so blind to enable someone like him to peddle his extreme views with no accountability? It comes across as a prank…till the mastermind of the prank actually end up with the top job.
SouthCoast.
He has a resemblance. Real Horashore.
Could there be horns coming up out of his skull?
That looks is….well, horrifying.
What strikes me most here is that it reminds me of the Trump mugshot.
I asked myself, what makes those two pictures look so completely different?
I think it’s that Millei’s photo is dark – inside and out. It speaks of a cold malevolence.
Trump’s mugshot is full of fire and passion. The wrathful father when you know you’ve got it coming. There’s love in there and the promise of strong correction.
In Millei, I see only the promise of destruction.
And is the irony that it’s “The Economist” making this judgment? Otherwise I’m lost.
The irony is that the Pope hates libertarianism and Argentina may soon have a libertarian President.
