CNN tries to happy talk this by claiming that much of this is fueled by increases in rent and mortgages. Of course this is mendacious due to the government not taking into consideration costs of gas and groceries in determining the inflation rate. Speaking of mendacity, I have noted smaller quantities for the same alleged price in regard to groceries. Inflation is the cruelest tax. It always hits hardest those at the bottom rung who have no choice but to pay all of their income just for basics for survival.
