Meghan McCain is a hypocrite to point this out as she and her mother openly supported him for president. Her own father’s behavior was not much better either.
The common denominator Is that both McCain and Biden Pretend to be something other than what they really are, McCain Republican and Biden Catholic.. Few people like a fraud.
If you check the ACU scorecard, you discover that John McCain had a starboard voting record in Congress and was less of a problem to party whips than about 1/3 of the Republican caucus. He was more unreliable after he’d been in Congress for about 15 years (pretty standard), terrible on border control, given to tossing in a monkey wrench at the wrong time, and had a poorly concealed disdain for the sort of Republican voter who was fond of Sarah Palin. IOW, he was a standard issue business Republican. You’d have liked someone better, but you could have had much worse. His daughter has a very different sensibility, as you’d expect, but she is also genus unreliable Republican too enmeshed in the attitudes of the Washington insider nexus. John McCain was both heroic and troublesome. His family isn’t a tsunami of crime and vice.
John McCain could’ve had the most conservative voting record in the history of the Senate, and his legacy would still be Obamacare. People aren’t likely to forget that one any time soon.
