Carlson and Fox

Fox is going after Carlson, alleging they have not fired him and his contract runs to 2025.  A few problems with this.  First, taking Carlson off the air would probably be construed to be a material breach of the contract by Fox.  Second, Carlson is not being paid for his twitter videos.  I doubt any non compete provisions would be applicable.  Third, the worst that could happen to Carlson is that he would lose the money still due him under his contract.  I have heard that is eighteen million dollars a year.  A vast sum for most of us;  chump change for what Carlson could be earning.  Fourth, Fox has been waging a war of leaks against Carlson, which may well also constitute a material breach of Carlson’s contract.  Bottom line, Fox is in a very weak legal position.  They made a stupid decision in firing Carlson, and it may be a fatal one for the network.

If there was a time that Fox desperately needed a Roger Ailes who could keep his hormones to himself, it would be now.

I’d be highly amused if FOX went broke trying to deal with Carlson. Even more amused if he somehow ended up owning the news network.

Supposedly, their out-of-court settlement deal with Dominion required Carlson be off the air. How much of Dominion is owned by Blackrock clients?

A bit. But Blackrock also owns 15% of Fox.

Carlson’s open support of Russia makes him nonexistent to me.
