The Robe (1953), because of its strong religious theme surrounding the Crucifixion, sometimes gets overlooked as a magnificent piece of film making.  Compare and contrast the slave Demetrius (Victor Mature) above, with this meeting after Demetrius has had time to absorb what Christ taught:
Marcellus, (Richard Burton), learns that he has nothing to fear from the robe of Christ. The film powerfully conveys an often overlooked feature of being a Christian: No matter what happens to us in this Vail of Tears, those who follow in the footsteps of Christ have nothing to fear.
Fantastic movie! For many years my family watched it every Good Friday.
