Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.

Francis’ recent comments about “going forward” rather than “going backward” show that his mindset is essentially non-Christian. Christians don’t regard the historical process as God, and are indifferent to whether they are “on the right side of history” or not. Christians care about whether their actions are pleasing to God or not — an attitude that appears to be utterly alien to the mind of Francis. His religion is progressivism, not Christianity.
Agreed, G.P. 👍
I hadn’t thought of it like that, GP, but that analysis seems spot-on.
Eh, who are his should-be friends at whom he sneers? Who are his enemies whom he flatters? His Curia does not seem to mind his whim; his bishops don’t seem to mind his…erratic tendency.
