On November 1, 2019 my Jack Russell Terrier Cali, suddenly heard the call of the wild and attacked a squirrel in our back yard twice. I rescued the squirrel from the teeth of the Mighty Huntress and it ran off shaken but unscathed. I don’t know why I bothered as the back yard squirrels have been known to steal everything not nailed down. On one memorable occasion last year I saw a squirrel dragging a slice of pizza up a tree. Rats with much better press than they deserve.

Grey squirrels are OK.
Red squirrels are psychotic.
Looks like those squirrels are having a blast with the spinning feeder. They will be coming over every day, now that the Episcopalians have run out of whiskey.
I hate squirrels and yes they can destroy wire in cars.
I am amazed at people who have thousands of dollars in damage to their car still only want squirrels captured and relocated.
🤦♀️
I have not seen a squirrel on the ground in years. Not since my clowder 😂. They love squirrels.
While I was on vacation for a week, grey squirrels got into my Honda Civic. They ate parts the wiring harness, a coil lead, the fuel line and put a hole in the gas tank. Car totaled. I admit I had not thought of calling Father over to baptize them.
HA!! How are those opposable thumbs working out for you now, tree rat?!? 😂🤣
When we renovated my childhood home in northwestern Illinois a few years back, the contractor discovered squirrel nests in the attic. After rebuilding and re-sealing the places where the roof joins the walls, he contrived a one-way exit using a length of 4” PVC pipe. After a couple of days the squirrels were gone and he removed the pipe. Good riddance. He also removed almost twenty pounds of walnuts and acorns from their stash, and assorted other debris they had apparently brought in.
Bushy tailed rats, indeed.
Grey squirrels are OK.
Red squirrels are psychotic.

Bill R, “Baptize” them? How about giving them the “last rites”?
Black squirrels? The late owner of Stanley Home Products in Massachusetts brought some over for his park man y decades ago. They are now down here in Ct. They are really a melanistic phase of the grey squirrel.

The post suggests circumsizing the squirrels. They will never come back. Even mice can total a car eating away at all the wiring. All rodents must continually chew or their teeth grow out of their mouth and they starve.
My youngest and I did some squirrel hunting today. Needed to clear them out as they have been raiding chicken feed. Two down, two to go.
A couple of cats will fix this problem.

But more fun taking your son out for a simple varmint hunt.
