No wonder most public schools are shifting to indoctrination. They certainly have failed at education. As to Lincoln, all his adult life he was an ardent opponent of the Democrat party, first as a Whig and then as a Republican. Willing to make common cause with anti-slavery Democrats in the fusion Republican Party, he remained opposed to the Democrat party. If that fact is not understood about Lincoln, he cannot be understood.

On a related note, I was shocked the other day to see the reliably leftist Dallas Morning News admit in their “this day in history” feature that the GOP was founded by abolitionists. Proofreaders mist have been having a bad day. 😆
