Amazing. What God given talent! The wig would be a challenge but the lace is even more so. Anyone know the the sculptor? From the Vatican Museum?
At my grandparents’ home in my mother’s room on the dressing table there were two little Dresden lamps with porcelain lace on the female figurine’s skirts. I recently found them in a laundry room closet. Sadly some of the lace is broken off. This post has brought back some sweet memories. Thank you.

The irony: modern technology can help the sculptor immensely: detecting flaws and crack in marble, for example, or laser-polishing surfaces.

Thanks you. Mouchy died in 1801. I’m surprised he and his works survived the Reign of Terror. The statue is of Charles de Sainte Maure, duc de Montausier. (1610-1690), gouverneur du Grand Dauphin (1661-1711)
