January 6: A Retrospective

So what does January 6 boil down to?  First, it was a stupid stunt for Trump to have a rally in Washington on that day.  Trump’s attempts to reveal the shenanigans that cost him the election him in 2020 had been a flat, and embarrassing, failure in the courts, and Trump is unwilling and unable to admit anything is ever his fault.  Thus he convinced himself that Vice President Pence could refuse to count enough electoral votes for Biden to give the election to Trump.  This was constitutional idiocy and one can imagine how the Democrat majorities in Congress would have reacted to this.  The Trump rally was a dangerous face saving device for Trump to try to have the presence of the crowd force Pence to attempt to do what he had no power to do.

Second, the riot on Capitol Hill was a result of neither the Capitol Police, nor the DC Government, having any plan to deal with the massive crowd.  Trump had tried to have the DC National Guard present to help with crowd control and that had been refused by the Mayor of DC.  Speaker Pelosi showed no interest in crowd control.  There is ample evidence of agents of the Federal government acting as agents provocateurs among the crowd.  The infamous Ray Epps is merely the tip of the ice berg in that regard.  These agents saw the crowd as an opportunity to have them engage in actions which could be attributed to Trump and take him out of politics permanently.  The woeful Capitol Police were all over the map in their reactions to the crowd, ranging from opening doors for the crowd, to attacking members of the crowd with stun bombs and inciting violence.

Third, the utterly partisan Capitol Hill Congressional Committee sought to use the January 6 incident to give a death blow to the GOP with a completely mendacious account of what went on that day.  The news media, consisting almost entirely of partisan Democrats, fell quickly into line with this narrative.  The hapless crowd participants found themselves facing Draconian penalties from a DC Federal District Court acting as if Fort Sumter had been fired upon again.  What the tapes are now showing us is that for the vast majority of participants they were pawns in a kabuki theater that bore no resemblance to this cooked narrative of an insurrection.

I wish some great lesson could be derived from January 6, but what it actually demonstrates is what happens when you have feckless people in top positions, a Deep State with its own agenda, a media fit for a one party state, a completely useless Capitol Hill police and a large crowd filled with people having much more zeal than brains.  That most commentators will miss most of this is merely a demonstration of the decayed, and deeply moronic, times in which we live.

The improperly incarcerated rotting in prison. What due process existed for them exactly? Are any of them still behind bars? There should be individuals locked up, however they happen to be Senators, FBI and a demented president of the party of death. Theirs is an incarceration that they earned while the so-called insurgents are collateral damage.

Notes for future insurrectionists. You don’t have far to travel to find targets, don’t do it in front of a thousand TV cameras, and, next time, bring guns.

If you think you live in a free country, schedule your surgeon to cut off the top of your skull and [with a magnifying glass] try see if you have a brain.

J6 was an inside job.

And what of the Grand Poo-bah? These videos, exculpatory evidence of his innocence, was not given to his defense attorney. What recourse does he have?

“What recourse does he have?”
I believe our host is correct, in that his chances of getting any recourse from the courts are slim at best. He can hope for a pardon from the next President who is not a Democrat. And he or she almost certainly will not be Trump. If DJT gets nominated next year, 2020’s steal could look like the minor leagues compared to 2024. Sure hope I’m wrong.

They openly lied, are still lying.. and they’re likely going to get away with it – or so it seems.

The devastation done to this country won’t easily heal.
1/2 the country rightly considers the Pres., the VP, former Speaker, the FBI & most of Congress to be Bold Face Liars.

I’m going off the reservation here.

Slavery is freedom.

War is peace.

Centrally planned/hyper-regulated/rigged economy is capitalism.

Pornography is children’s literature.

Child sexualization is education.

Public School Teachers’ Unions have your child’s best interests at heart.

They lie about everything else: border security, COVID origins, election integrity, fentanyl sources/deaths, fossil fuels [war on], gender dysphoria, George Floyd, inflation, masks, systemic racism, Trump, vaccines, etc.

This is 1984 on steroids.

The Democrats will continue to push till they finally push a Mattathias (1st Maccabees 2:15-28) or a Phinehas (Numbers 25:6-9). Then all hell will break lose.

Don, I love this piece, including your summary that there’s nothing to be learned from it.

… There’s plenty to be learned from it.

Don’t underestimate the depths the Democrats will sink in the mud to attain their goals.
Don’t assume there’s anyone in the government who gives two shakes about the rule of law or the Constitution.
Keep a very good lawyer on speed dial.

… just to list a few

take care of your own.

the united states is disintegrating.

what will rise from the ashes remains to be seen.

the unscrupulous have through the passage of time have identified the weaknesses in our constitution (a great but not perfect document).

the perpetrators of the disintegration are using modern media to create within the body politic what some scholars term mass formation psychosis.

essentially greed has replaced patriotism and pride. fear is the tactic being used to produce the mass formation psychosis.

we are not the first people or nation to come to an end.

those faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ will survive the turmoil to come far better than most.

i believe the Catholic Curch will be the instrument that will return the world to truth peace and stability.
