The funny thing is that the Twitter elite – liberals progressive feminist environmentalist Democrats – would be among the first to kill Jews.

Since Israel was the most vaccinated and basically the one country to volunteer to be Guinea pigs (not giving out correct data from vaccine injuries/deaths either) their demise may be well under way, Lucius.

As a side to this- No nation is above criticism. No race is above criticism. Not even Israel and that includes Jews. Even though BB have been incorrectly accused of being anti-Semitism here, that aside, I don’t see why we should walk on egg shells for Jews, anymore than we have to for fellow Christians.

@EZABELLE — No kidding. Even a brief familiarity with the Old Testament is enough to make that point.

I think the fair way to put that is that Jacob and his descendants were chosen to be a priestly people. Nobody is fit to be a priest of the One True God, so it was fitting that He chose them when they were nobodies. If He had chosen the Egyptians, it might have seemed to have been for their monuments or the antiquity of their civilization; if He had chosen the Greeks, it might have seemed to have been for their poetry or philosophy; if He had chosen the Assyrians, it might have seemed to have been for their military prowess. No, he chose them because there was nothing special about them — EXCEPT for the fact that they were chosen. But as a priestly people, they represent mankind to God — a little too well, having all our sins and faults as well as the better parts of our fallen natures.

Incidentally, I would say that if the Jews are the answer to, “NOBODY is fit to be a priest of God,” Rome is the answer to, “God loves EVERYBODY.” (I think Egypt was EVERYBODY before Rome.)

As for the State of Israel, that is a completely different question. It should be obvious that it is not the Kingdom of David. For that matter, Jews are no longer Nobodies. They have distinguished themselves largely by having a culture that values learning, and that has born great fruits for them — and aroused a huge amount of jealousy. They don’t need to be Nobodies, because now God has called other priests.

Interesting perspective. Unfortunately for the Jews, their rejection of Our Lord has meant that they have missed out on the fruits of the Faith. That’s a fact. They themselves rejected a “nobody”- a son of a poor carpenter- because he was not good enough to be the One and True Saviour in their eyes. Again, it has been a great loss for a race who was once Gods chosen people. Of course Our Prayers for the Jews are that they “see the light” and realise how wrong they have been. Indeed, some have converted to Christianity.

What I found completely amazing is that Christ called a handle full of real nobodies, much like him who had no power or wealth or outstanding worldly skills, to start His Church. Jews who were not clever, learned and powerful. And those few nobodies formed what is The Church and it’s multitudes. The fact that our Christian Faith calls anybody and everybody regardless of race is something I believe the world does envy. As Christians we face persecution for this. To rest ones laurels on the fact that ones stand out qualities are being learned and clever, as the Jews either are perceived or want to be perceived, is a risky thing to do because all of that is fleeting and temporary.

The Numero Uno, quick response to the @elad guy is, “Everything that guy wrote is BS.” The Numero Dos is, “You can’t handle the truth.”

Re: systemic antisemitism. They need to stop pushing it on ignorant six-year-olds, eg., Twitter censors.

BTW: When I was a hater [been trying to reform] I was an equal opportunity hater. I hated everyone.

Now, I pretty much hate everyone on the road with me.

@EZABELLE — It’s … a little more complicated than that. For one thing, it is clear that many Jews did accept Christ, and I don’t just mean those priests and bishops who began practicing celibacy. They integrated with Christian Gentiles and stopped thinking of themselves as Jews, and those we call Jews today would reject their claim to be Jewish, regardless of ancestry. God is not bound by such fads, and perhaps He considers them Jewish; it seems impossible that the condition for God’s blessings on the Jewish people is that they reject God the Son. As a matter of fact, it is certain that everyone of European descent has the blood Moses and Aaron and David flowing through his veins — and also the blood of emperors and pagan priests and wizards. https://nautil.us/youre-descended-from-royalty-and-so-is-everybody-else-236939/

For another, it is clear from Scripture that “the Jews” (however that is to be understood) will be reconciled to Christ at the End. It is hard to imagine just what that might look like, but the same can be said for most end-time prophecy.

And you’re right: God’s favoritism for “nobodies” continues. I think the only groups people whose prayers God has PROMISED to hear are widows and orphans — not those of emperors, kings, presidents, or prime ministers, and maybe not (outside sacraments celebrated in persona Christi) bishops or even Popes. For example, we are far to ready to credit the collapse of the Soviet Union to the prayers of Pope St. John Paul II, but that regime created a lot of widows and orphans, many of whom may be saints known only to God. If we look merely at the secular, proximate causes of the collapse, it had nothing to do with John Paul II, but if we look at the spiritual factors at play, we really have no way of knowing the particular influence of so many prayers from so many people.

This year I have been gobsmacked by Israel’s response to the overturning of RvW and how the ADL comes out and threatens the owner of Twitter bc he reinstated someone he didn’t like (Ye?).
If the ADL really represents present day American Jews, I’m just gonna take a step to the right and let them alone. Something is amiss.
No one is above criticism.
Even at the height of our horrible scandal the most I could say is they have done something horrible and not all priests are like that!
The more I hear from ADL the more I don’t care to be around them.

There’s a bit of distance between, ‘vaccines can have harmful side effects’ and ‘the demise of Israel is underway’. But you be you.

The Acts of the Apostles is the fifth book of the New Testament; it tells of the founding of the Christian Church and the spread of its message to the Roman Empire. It gives an account of the ministry and activity of Christ’s apostles in Jerusalem and other regions, after Christ’s death, resurrection, and ascension.

@CAM, I assume she was being sarcastic. But the point is that throughout Acts, the Gospel was proclaimed first to the Jews in any given location, then to the Gentiles, and in both cases a minority, but not a negligible minority, accepted the Gospel. In the first few decades almost all the converts were Jewish, with Gentile “God-fearers” (who followed much of Judaism, but not circumcision, and probably not kosher laws) coming in second.

What happened after that was complicated. I’ve seen estimates that ~20% of the eastern Roman Empire was Jewish in the First Century, but that number seems high; it might well include God-fearers and others who had some connection with Judaism without being quite properly Jewish. At any rate, a series of wars with Rome certainly had disastrous consequences for the Jewish population in the Empire — not just for those in the Holy Land, but also for those living in Greece, Egypt, etc. Many Jews were certainly put to the sword, and many others fled to Parthia, but it seems clear that of those who remained in the Roman Empire, a fair number eventually became Christian.

No, it didn’t go over my head. I assumed you knew the name of the book. I see no evidence that you have read it. But the joke of your name, in which you have apparently left off the initial “J”, did pass unnoticed.
