Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.

I don’t buy the hypothesis that the overturning of Roe really hurt the GOP in the this years midterms. The left knows the Republican establishment hides in their empty suits every time they bring up abortion.
You are probably right Greg. In some states it may have hurt, but abortion in all the surveys was a top issue almost solely among activist Democrats who likely would have voted in any case.
Lots of interesting data on the election coming out. Right now it looks as if Republican candidates got about six million votes more than Democrat candidates. A lot of the Republican flips came in very blue Democrat congressional districts where one would least have expected them.. New York State saw a big resurgence in the Republican party. The Florida Democrat party has been reduced to minor party status. The political data geeks will be having a feast day with this one in the weeks to come.
I caught a quote from Drew Mariani yesterday regarding data taken from surveys, polling stations. The percentage of self identifying pro-choice voters decreased by 7. Those who identify as pro-life increased by 10%.
This, compared to data in the 2020 election.
If true, the platform is slowly sinking.
Attrition I suppose.
The damage from Proposal 3 will be evident in a couple of years from now. Parents that didn’t take heed of the warnings that we made visible regarding the language of the proposal will suffer the effects soon enough. Meanwhile Michigan will have a new source of revenue flowing in. Blood money.
Pure Evil.
The worst of this past election is almost entirely in Michigan and Pennsylvania. Elsewhere…not so bad for the GOP. Steve Forbes opined as such.
Great point to start the day, Mr. McClarey.
Our more or less conservative town is now purple. There were Democrat signs everywhere. I am not surprised all three Props passed and that we (Mich) now have a Democratic Gov and Legislature (partly due to gerrymandering from last year or so). The local school board went to the “sex ed crowd.”
.
Michigan is currently very homeschool friendly. Gov W has formed a committee to look at “reasonable” regulations on homeschoolers. No doubt they will include vax records (inc Cov 19), state mandated testing, curriculum oversight, etc.
.
(It is my understanding that mandating Cov 19 is supposed to be illegal in Michigan, if the mandating party gets gov’t funds; assuming this is true, I expect that may change. Also, removing religious exemptions, which were very easy to get when my children were younger.)
.
I do not want to leave Michigan ever, but I want my children to move out of state.
Agreed: The party that didn’t consider African-American people to merit full personhood (3/5ths vote for congressional representation and all that) easily transitions to denying that a child is a human with full rights.
So the Dem political future is abortion, no-bail/no-pursuit laws & release-of-jailed-violent-murderers/felons, and massive unsustainable debt and financial oblivion.
A new meaning to the word dystopian.
A child is NOT a human..
Aargh.
Please stop slandering jackasses by equating them with the Democrat Party. As a former jackass owner (great goat protectors), I have found them to be quite pleasant animals. (Said tongue in cheek). If only more Democrat voters had the character and perception of the average jackass, the United States would be improved.
Point well taken JR.
If only more Democrat voters had the character and perception of the average jackass, the United States would be improved.*
Truth 😂🤣❗️
