Forgive and Forget (Yes, I understand the analogy is over the top, although I think some of the Covid dictators were quite eager to keep their “emergency powers” permanently and to silence all opposition. Dachau was the first concentration camp opened by the Nazis on March 22, 1933 and originally was meant to house political dissidents. From such seedlings the Holocaust grew. Beware of taking a cavalier attitude of forgive and forget towards the infringement of fundamental freedoms in the name of an emergency. A bad precedent has been set and rest assured it will be used by bad men in bad ways in the future and perhaps the near future.):

“I did as I was told.”
I heard that so many times during the lockdown by those who did not agree with what was being done but followed to fear of loss of job or confrontation or just not wanting to be shamed. Unfortunately, they also said it when they forced others to be vaccinated against their will or fired others.
A failed public health experiment and, for some, a massive exercise in control.
School buses run on diesel, of which there is a shortage. Trains too, I hear. Oh, and did you know that two or three unions have rejected a labor contract to keep the trains running? Maybe the lack of diesel will not matter. And then there is the drought along the Mississippi Rv that is snarling barges.
.
It’s going to get very interesting pretty quickly here
“Let’s declare a pandemic amnesty.”
Let me deeply consider that. No.
On a personal level such as family and friends, sure, although there will still be deep wounds that may never heal. The covid fascism that writers like this pushed and championed facilitated deep rifts within my own family that I don’t think will ever be fully restored, so I’m not terribly inclined to just shrug my shoulders and not demand accountability when those pushing see the winds starting to blow the other way and are worried about suffering the consequences they called for for others.
On an institutional level it is impossible and would be a travesty of justice as almost all trust has been obliterated, especially within institutions (such as the medical field) where trust is essential. I’ve been in and out of hospitals and doctor’s offices my entire life, often placing my life in their hands, and I have come to find that I simply cannot trust them anymore, whether cancer specialists or PCPs. Perhaps I never should have, as I look back over a lifetime of treatments and wonder how much was really in my best interest. I hate thinking that way, but here we are. There has to be accountability and a reckoning to move forward in a any meaningful way.
I also think there is going to have to be a reckoning among the hierarchy. Given how ineffective the jabs have turned out to be, not to mention how harmful, the whole idea of getting jabbed as an “act of love” feels like a sick joke at best. An act of love for whom? Pfizer? I was horrified when it was first floated (and when my own bishop parroted it) and that horror has not abated. It is like they looked at the Galileo affair and said “here, hold my beer.” Because Science.
No. Nononononononono no.
You [the Atlantic author and her ilk like Shea] were warned about all this. Years ago thousands of us begged you all to be calm. We asked to have a discussion. To sit down and talk things out so that we may reason together weighing the cost and benefits of our options. We begged for some consideration of what the long term consequences may be.
And your response? You lot called us murders, blood thirsty, merciless and unchristian. There was no insult too vile to be hurled at any who had even the slightest hesitation at your reckless panic.
So no. There will be no forgiveness. Instead you and your kind will be branded with this scarlet ‘C’ until the end of your miserable lives so that you all can suffer in kind the slings and insults that you heaped upon your neighbors until your children and your children’s children have learned from your example. That one should ever be prudent and humble because one never knows who they will have to seek forgiveness from tomorrow.
Those who were charitable and reasonable even in disagreement during COVID? They will be forgiven.
The problem is this is world wide, not just US.
So, I’m thinking an international trial should be held. We need to know the players names and those who made profits get the money taken back and given to victims.
Anything less, nope.
Still want me to know if Vatican bought Pfizer stock, if so, how much and when
There were bound to be mistakes as the government was flying blind and the politicians had to rely on the counsel of underperforming agencies run by office politicians. The thing is, we were aware as soon as the Diamond Princess data came through that people under 50 were not at risk from this virus. We were aware by June of 2020 that the mode of transmission was indoor air. Both bits of information should have led to a radical reduction in restrictions in real time. We later learned (from Dr. Atlas) that Fauci, Birx, and Redfield did not read studies or make decisions based on what the studies told them. We also later learned that Fauci, Birx, and Redfield had pledged to resign en bloc should Trump fire any one of them. Then there was Dr. Szilgyi’s committee at the CDC and Rochelle Welensky subcontracting policy determination to the teachers’ unions. And, in this country, we knew by October 2021 that the COVID vaccines weren’t that effective. The mandates should have disappeared then and there. Actually, there shouldn’t have been any, because we knew from the beginning they did not prevent transmission.
@Jason- prayers for your healing. The fact that you are alive today to tell your story is proof God was protecting you amongst it all. The medical profession is a lucrative business. There are good doctors out there- I hope you are looked after by the good ones.
May I share a real feel-good story about Gods justice:
Mark Zahra is an Australian jockey who won the Melbourne Cup race today. The Melbourne Cup is the richest handicap race in the world and known as Australia’s most distinguished thoroughbred horse race. It’s called “the race that stops a nation” for good reason. Every Australian watches it. Zahra was suspended last year in 2021 for breaking Victoria’s Covid lockdown rules (Victoria’s looney Premiere Andrew’s set a world record for the length of lockdowns in one city). He was meant to ride the horse which ended up winning last year in 2021, but because he was suspended for 3months he missed out- and he became very depressed as a result. Yet he came back and won it this year even though he wasn’t tipped as a favourite. God gives us silver linings and I really believe His Justice is served in His good time.
Dr. McCullough is currently having his medical licenses stripped away. Military members are still forced to get jabbed. I noticed, however, that the author of the article did not really call for amnesty to go both ways. Funny how that works.
When they ask for forgiveness and admit their arrogance, then we can talk. Until then, they remain the same problem they’ve always been. For me, the worst part was the evil exposed in the Church. For instance, I remember listening on the radio to Teresa Tomeo with her guest discussing the “Catholic” response to COVID. An older gentleman called in and asked where it was written that he could be refused Communion on the tongue. Tomeo’s guest refused to answer and said, among other things, that the mere question was “from the devil”. The caller was humiliated in front of the entire radio audience. I emailed her in private and asked why the man didn’t get an answer to his question instead of being verbally abused. She dodged the question again, gave me a cite that supposedly answered the question, and attacked me for asking my question. Of course, the site simply confirmed that the faithful cannot be denied Communion on the tongue. She’s just one of many examples in the Church of giving in to fear and denying the faith. Of course I will forgive, but I won’t forget who should never have power again, whether in the Church or society.
NOT.
A.
CHANCE.
My mother-in-law died alone in her nursing home, and was damned near denied the last sacraments of the Catholic faith the night before. But for the doggedness of the priest demanding entry, she would not received them the night before she died.
Thanks to Whitmer closing her arena hospital and shunting infected patients back to nursing homes, we saw her once via Facetime and my wife saw her mother at the ER two months before she died.
Yes, Whitmer’s policy was “voluntary,” but it paid really well and liability was also waived on their behalf. 4400 dead seniors and countless sundered families later, we’re supposed to let it go? Even though Gretch let the casinos open weeks earlier, notorious senior magnets that they are?
Go away, Professor–before I say something I have to confess.
Dr. McCullough is currently having his medical licenses stripped away.
AFAICT, he is being harassed, but the degree to which he is seems to be continually enhanced in retelling. (If I understand correctly, what’s happened is that the commercial publisher which produces medical journal of whom he’s been the editor removed him from the editor’s char).
“AFAICT, he is being harassed, but the degree to which he is seems to be continually enhanced in retelling.”
Possibly. On his Oct. 30 Substack the author of the post (his co-author John Leake) relates that McCullough received a letter from ABIM dated Oct. 18 in which they stated their recommendation that his board certification be revoked. On Steve Kirsch’s Oct. 29 Substack he says that McCullough sent him a message that morning in which he said: “Yesterday I was stripped of my board certifications in Internal Medicine and Cardiology after decades of perfect clinical performance, board scores, and hundreds of peer reviewed publications.” So presumably this happened on Oct. 28.

Fair enough. I assume he now has a cause of action. I would love it in these cases if the aggrieved could hold the responsible individuals accountable. I’m tired of frauds hiding behind corporate veils. I’d also love to see what they find in discovery.
Amnesty? That’s like saying Mengele should have received amnesty. How many died because of the experiment they forced on the whole of humanity with the help of the many useful idiots who shamed those who refused the jab.

Let’s get a grip.
