All during pandemic, there were voices calling for common sense, for open debate about options. Those voices were slandered & censored, accused of not loving neighbors. Maher is right, we need to talk about the horrific collateral damage the “compassionate” left in their wake. https://t.co/Wc21b6lmmL

Language advisory as to the above video. More and more people are waking up to the fact that most of what was done in the great Covid-19 hysteria made as much sense as if we had responded to Covid with massed shamen waving sticks at the flu demons. We took a global influenza and turned it into a civilization altering force, thanks to our worthless leaders and utterly incompetent, and sheep like, medical professionals.
“[I]f we had responded to Covid with massed shamen waving sticks at the flu demons,” we might be better off.
.
The insanity (idiocy? evil?) continues with the CDC now adding the Covid Vax to the list of children’s vaccines available for federal funding–which makes no sense to me because I thought the vaccines were “free” anyway. I am not entirely sure of the process, but this seems to be the first step in making the vax “mandatory” for schools (both public and private) and sports programs. And of course cements the liability protections for Pfizer and Moderna.
.
I remember discussing the 1986 law that makes vaccines mandatory and protecting the pharmaceutical companies from liability at the dinner table. It made sense at the time, I suppose, but it is clear now we were too trusting. The GOP should make abolishing that law a priority.
Having a masked shaman wave sticks at the covid demons would have made way more sense, as it would have had no impact except for some politicians feeling good about meeting their inclusion quota, which is a cost of doing business I’d be willing to pay to keep them from doing anything in the name of public health, which has been amply demonstrated to be primarily a useful garb for power consolidation.
Although, to be fair, the reliable sources of traditional media and a completely legitimate congressional commission would have me believe a masked shaman almost singlehandedly overthrew the government, destroyed democracy, and killed AOC, so I might rethink my previous statement…

ROFL.
For my part, the image of massed shamen waving sticks at the flu demons reminded me of the “Amazon Synod.” For some reason…
DJH:
When vaccines effectively prevent transmission of a generally fatal disease, this retired teacher agrees with vaccine mandates for school kids. The flu vaccines do not prevent transmission and for children the flu is rarely fatal, so they are not mandated for schools. The latter still keep older people from dying and that’s fine for us, if we choose (and I do). The COVID rules should have followed those for the flu: with vaccines completely voluntary, recommended for the old, the sick and the fat.
