The Pope does love that word.

I never thought we’d have a Pope that engages in the corruption of language like the Radical Left does. His is a Teaching Office. And that makes this doubly damming.

Amen, David WS.
As for the gentleman in white, the admonition “Physician, heal thyself” springs to mind.

There’s a certain delightful irony in issuing anathemas during a homily on the anniversary of a council that issued none. Maybe the spirit of VII has gotten grumpier with age.

I’ll also note that retracing one’s steps is not necessarily a lack of evidence of love, but can actually be evidence of love and a necessary condition for it. Hence Jesus tells the church in Ephesus in Apoc. 2 that they have forsaken their first love and need to go back and do the works they used to do. I suppose that could sound Pelagian and selfish.

At least he’s criticizing both sides.

Snort.

Words are cheap, and Catholic conservatives are the cheapest of dates.

He favors the progressives in deed, and that’s what matters. You can cobble together an orthodox-ish pope if you cherry pick his voluminous speeches. You can’t do the same for his actions, appointments, or the leeway he gives to the Huns and the progs who script and stage-manage his synods.

So, yeah, call me when he shuts down a progressive campaign, order or institute. I need not wait by the phone.

I’m worse that a cheap date; I’m close to Stockholm syndrome. But I’ll take it.

The Church is supposed to transcend time and space. There is a difference between a Church for the ages and a Church of the ages. The Church of the ages is one that is subordinate to the times in which it finds itself. A worldly Church that can never make promises that the ever shape-shifting fads of the world would let it keep. The whole concept of covenant and keeping promises would become foreign to its way of thinking. The clerical abuse scandal is a complete failure of the hierarchy to honor its commitments. Only a Church for the ages is one that can make covenants and promises that are worth anything and that can survive through the ages. A true Vatican II would be one where the Church keeps faith with the past and remains a Church for the ages. The “Spirit of Vatican II” ends up producing a Church of the ages that cannot keep faith with the past. The evidence of the pope’s conduct is more consistent with that of the Church of the ages.

There’s no point in that.

Bergoglio is a nasty little old man, mean to those who wouldand did wish him well and despised by those he craves attention from.
He made his bed. Let him lie in it.
With all the problems the Chyrch faces, in his twisted and spiteful mind it is the Latin Mass people who need to be destroyed.
Remember the MASH episode when an injured Radar gpt a mouthful from Hawkeye because Hawkeye did not like being told he was looked up to? Hawkeye told Radar that he and Iowa could go to hell. Radar’s response? “To hell with YOU!”
My feelings about the nasty sourpuss Argentine exactly.
Same with the Bidens, Fetterwoman, Joke Shapiro, the Lincoln Project, the Democrat Party and Putin.

Is it “long[ing] for a bygone world” or is it sincerely seeking Christ our Lord and finding him in more traditional practices? It’s an important distinction. I hope the Pope will think it through.

Christ is here. The crucified Christ is outside of time (in eternity) before all ages. People must seek the crucified Christ. Before all ages, ever ancient, ever new.

Bergoglio said that he does not want the title of “Vicar of Christ”. This is not a title. This is his job. Saint John Chrysostom said that the road to hell is paved with bishops’ skulls. Bergoglio is the bishop of Rome. Do not trip on Bergoglio’s skull stuck in the firery brimstone.
And yet the priest, adulterer, child molester, murderer still has the faculty of saying Mass and forgiving of sins.
Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen was in charge of abusive priests. Sheen never, never returned an abusive priest back into ministry. They were sent to live in monasteries where they might recoup their innocence and souls.
Why are abusive priests sent to other parishes without the parishioners being informed?
Is it because some bishops hold sdomy as no sin or crime. Or is it the pride that abusing another human being is a great and wonderful gift?
Assault and battery is sodomy. Cheating God of his sovereignty and the innocent of their innocence.
Jesus Christ says: “I do not know you.”
