I was the third of seven in my family. When I got older, my Father told me that if he had waited until he could afford kids, I wouldn’t exist. He also told me that children were the greatest blessing and that I would never regret having more kids, but I would regret having fewer. Needless to say, my memory of childhood was that my Mother was always pregnant. I had four siblings die in childbirth. This was in the 70’s and she got a lot of nasty comments from the zero population growth crowd. Years later, one of the wealthier ladies told my Mom that it was a mistake not to have more kids because the intelligent people were the ones who should have been having larger families. My Mom’s response: “They did.”

Not so fast. Elon, was married with four children and he left his wife. My wife ( we have 4) considers him a bum, and there’s no convincing her otherwise. I say can’t judge, don’t know all the details, but from my own perspective it seems like a rotten thing to do. I’ll praise him for his statement but that’s it.
The greens have hysteria. They have bought into a hoax. There has been climate change for eons which includes global cooling and global warming. Man cannot control climate change. To think so is hubris and an offense against God the Creator. How can man cause volcanic eruptions? The ensuing dust from eruptions has caused limited sunshine, i.e. heat, which in turn has caused global cooling. The result famine from crop failure and sickness. We cannot control movement of tectonic plates causing destructive earthquakes and tsunamis. What mankind can control is pollution which is quite different from climate change. Also practice best management forestation which prevents forest fires, erosion, mudsides.
Elon Musk is not a saint. He is very bright and seems to have common sense which is in short order in the ruling, governing classes.

Someone “like him” doesn’t usually have “that many kids.” His kids are separate entities to him. Glad they are living and breathing.

I’ve gotten a good bit of similar flak, from folks who assumed that because we have more than three, I am ignorant.
… that’s when I start pulling out the ‘avionics electronics calibration technician’ type jargon, and mention that I turned down being a nuke for a work/life balance, as well as having been in the top two percent of those who tested for military service in my year.
I’m not articulate off the cuff, but I don’t pigeon hole into unintelligent by any means. 😀

In my younger days as an attorney Foxfier I frequently enjoyed a tactical advantage due to my adversaries judging from my placid and stolid demeanor that I must not be very bright. I would occasionally play into the stereotype to increase the impact when I chose to reveal how badly mistaken they were! The smartest often take pains to conceal how bright they are!
Foxfier and Don: Remember that others who did now know him used to refer to Thomas Aquinas as “the Dumb Ox.” The Modernists probably still do. Heh.
