It’s hard not to see Trump as one sees the highwayman of the old ballads. Not a good man, but somehow no worse than his pursuers, and far more clever and amusing. We don’t really want the highwayman to escape the King’s justice, but we’re happy to smile as he gets away (yet again) from the King’s agents.
