Caesar Should Demand His Coin Back

Go here to read the article.

When clerics get their mitts on a lot of money we often have cause to recall why Christ condemned the love of money as the root of all evil.  None of what the diocese is doing is legal.  Paycheck Protection Money was to meet expenses, especially payroll expenses, during the time periods of, and around, the lock downs.  The money was to be spent immediately within set periods and not sit in bank accounts.  The 25% surcharge by the diocese is almost certainly illegal.  The Tennessee diocese should be forced to pay every cent back to the Feds.

So, let’s think about this.  The Bishops closed down our Catholic churches at an illegitimate command of Caesar, while simultaneously being bribed paid by Caesar.   Can anything be more in violation of the clear command of Christ?:
