Thought For the Day

Of course for anyone who loves one of the kids murdered, all the numbers in the world don’t matter.  Abortion of course, legally sanctioned, is the homicide elephant in the American room.  The lessons kids absorb from abortion is that they were disposable at one  time, and that selfishness trumps love.

Good point to be sure. When the most innocent and helpless among us are not safe, who else is? If unborn human beings are so much disposable garbage, what’s to stop sick and twisted minds from seeing others as the same?

One has to realize that far more dangerous than a crazed shooter with a weapon, is an untethered government with magnanimous power over us (one that eagerly supports the slaughter of millions of trapped innocent human beings). Any who think they won’t, if given the opportunity, come after innocent adults the same way isn’t thinking. Why else would people, who care not for human life, spend such perpetual energy trying to stop people from being able to protect their own lives, by erasing the 2cd amendment, which merely codifies our rights given us by “Nature’s God”)

Data, facts, statistics mean nothing to those people.

The left exploits and propagandizes these atrocities to distract the sheep from the unnecessary catastrophes, e.g., China virus lockouts and runaway inflation, and push their commie agendas.

If only we had more laws, then this stuff would stop happening. Right? It’s not like the Left keeps telling us there will be back alley abortions if abortion is made illegal. Obviously, they don’t believe laws deter conduct they are motivated to engage in. Instead, how about we restore faith, family and fatherhood in this nation. We don’t need another law, just a return to to God’s law.

Anyone catch this yet? Seems that some number of local law enforcement officers stood around ineffectually outside the school while the shooter was barricaded (not reported how) inside a classroom killing people. A border patrol officer from another town was the only one who ran inside to go after the killer.

How on Earth can any LEA not be ready for something like this? The very small town where my brother is chief of police has security cameras throughout the combined junior high and high school building, which he and other LEO’s can view on their smartphones, automatic locks on all the doors that can be enabled or disabled remotely, and annual training exercises to prepare for active shooter situations as well as natural disaster scenarios. If that little town can do it, anyone can. Sigh. 😢

Frank, I don’t know the full story and I’ll never condemn all law enforcement but remember these are the same individuals who arrested indivuals during the pandemic for daring to let their children use playground equipment.

I’d never condemn the BP rapid response guy who went in without backup, but you generally don’t do that because it’s best described as delivering fresh ammo and gear.
The training involves the team being organized before they go in, so that they don’t become victims with really great loot drops.

Yes, it’s a stupid system, but that’s because the smart system of “there are people already inside with the ability to offer active defense” isn’t being used.

“remember these are the same individuals who arrested indivuals during the pandemic for daring to let their children use playground equipment.”
Not in Uvalde, Texas, or anywhere else in this state, for that matter. I hated the Covid extremism as much as anyone, but this is not a fair statement.

On the tube Hillary and Pelosi months back having an informal coffee klatch. Hillary sitting on her throne, Pelosi in a smaller easy chair talking about their prescious grandchildren.
At the end of the segment one of them said, ” It’s all about the children, isn’t it and their future.” The other nods, “Yes!’. Or words to that effect.
Hypocrite harpies, the most public abortion promoters out there. It’s not all about all the children is it. No safety in the womb. No future for the aborted babies. Thankfully there are a few news commentators covering the massacre who have dared to mention to the correlation.

Article appears to be trying to spin folks up in a desired manner.
The (armed) school resource officer did go in, actually chased the [rude term] in, and they “exchanged fire” inside of the school, and the [rude term] shot at cops, and that’s when they think he hit the classroom.

Contrast with this Forbes article, which lays out a timeline– notably, they quote the same guy as the NBC article.

Horrible but on the nose example of why showdowns with hostages are horrible, exactly because you can’t go in without the guy killing the hostages.

Donald– there is very obviously someone attempting a media push.

The cops were not doing nothing; for starters, they were evacuating the other kids– which I only know about because of articles declaring that to be a bad thing, because some of the cops responding have kids at the school, and may be what the article you link was talking about when it says that an officer on the video said they were sending someone in to get the kids– and at least two of the armed responders who rushed in to try to stop him before he got into the room got shot.

At which point he had hostages.

Which makes him being dead some 40 minutes after shots were fired at the school insanely fast if there was ANY attempt to keep the hostages from being executed.

One reporter said that brave teachers evacuated their students from their classrooms. Conflicting report – 900 students at school. Today it was said 600 student body. Lots of inaccuracies it seems.

IDK the on site commander appears to have treated this as a “hostage” situation.
And if true that was a terrible terrible mistake.
It was not.

They should’ve shot him as he walked around the school with a gun. Period.
You see someone trying to enter a school with a gun don’t think twice. Run him over. Pin him to a wall.

If the police rush in & get shot, then there are more victims to deal with. All of the emergency training I have received has taught me to be sure that I can carry out any action to help with a reasonable degree of safety —so that I don’t make things worse for everyone else. The staff needs to be trained & armed. Then there is no one waiting on the police to get there or decide to actually do something. Plain & simple.
