Harry Truman used to privately refer to the FBI as “Hoover’s Gestapo”. Well, the FBI is now the Democrat Party’s Gestapo. Instead of solving real crimes within their jurisdiction, they spend their time in political machinations. Time to reform or abolish it, and abolition is gaining with me.
I just spent some time searching Deacon Steven Greydanus’ Twitter feed. Notice how every time he discusses the abortion issue (which isn’t that often for a Catholic deacon), he always makes sure to countersignal the mainstream pro-life movement and signal how he’s one of a handful of True Pro-Lifers.

I’m with you, Don. An organization this obviously and thoroughly corrupt cannot be reformed. It must be abolished and not replaced. There is a similar argument against every Federal LEA with the exception of the Border Patrol. DEA, ATF, and the many areas of jurisdiction claimed by the Secret Service beyond protecting the POTUS. Federal police are never a good idea, IMO.
I note that CBS, with the cooperation of the FBI, is now programming three series per week on the organization in an effort to clean up their reputation. For those that follow the news in the more objective media, these puff pieces will do little to burnish their reputation. I predict a rather short run for the programs.
This is actually a no-lose situation for the left. If they had secured convictions, they could point to those convictions as evidence of a “vast right-wing conspiracy.” The failure to convict can be used to impeach the jury system. There have already been calls to abolish the jury system since it hasn’t been conducive to political kangaroo court show trials.

They don’t have to go anywhere. They just need to rile up their supporters with it. The left manufactures outrage for the purpose of gaining or maintaining power. Little things like the Constitution won’t get in the way of outrage if that’s all you need.
