The joke used to be decades ago: The New York Times report on the end of the world: World Ending: Women and Minorities Hardest Hit.

Yikes. They should stick to the Wordle.
Sadly, that headline is someone being sensible at the Woke.
For the last two weeks or so, folks have been test-flying using nukes to trigger a nuclear winter and fight climate change. Including, literally, “Hey here’s a bright side to nuclear war.”
I will not give the Atlantic a single click, and I’m persona non grata on Twitter, so just going with recollections here: aren’t these mostly the same people who whined about “nuclear winter” back when there was a strong, anti-Soviet President in office, and they mostly were rooting for the enemy? Seems to me that nuclear winter would be sort of the opposite of global warming, which everyone knows is what the chattering classes really mean when they say “climate change.” So problem solved, eh? 😉
(/sarcasm off)
Heh. Foxfier, your post came up while I was typing mine. I didn’t realize anyone was seriously suggesting that. Sheesh.
Frank- define “serious”…. ^.^
There’s good reason that the Bee is noted as the Paper of Record.
The full version of the joke, as I heard it, had the following headlines:
NYT – “World Ending: Women and Minorities Hardest Hit”
WSJ – ‘World Ending: Markets React”
Washington Post – “World Ending: Redskins Game In Doubt”
